[비만 치료제 위고비]

위고비(Wegovy)는 덴마크 제약회사 노보노디스크에서 개발한 비만 치료제로, 주 1회 투여만으로 체중을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있는 약물입니다.

주요 성분인 세마글루타이드(GLP-1 유사체)는 원래 당뇨병 치료제로 개발되었으나, 임상 연구 도중 체중 감소 효과가 발견되어 비만 치료제로도 사용되게 되었습니다.

세마글루타이드는 식욕 억제, 포만감 증가, 혈당 조절에 도움을 주며, BMI가 30 이상인 비만 환자나 27 이상이면서 동반질환을 가진 과체중 환자에게 적합합니다. 

[Obesity Treatment Wegovy]

Wegovy, developed by the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, is an obesity treatment medication that can effectively reduce body weight with just one injection per week.

Its main ingredient, semaglutide (a GLP-1 analogue), was initially developed as a diabetes treatment but was later found to have weight loss effects during clinical trials, leading to its use as an obesity treatment.

Semaglutide helps suppress appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and regulate blood sugar levels. It is suitable for patients with a BMI of 30 or higher or for overweight patients with a BMI of 27 or higher who also have weight-related comorbidities.
